Joe Baize competed in one of only 3 ADCC North American Trials and won! He was invited to the New Jersey edition along with some of the other top grapplers in America. Competing in the 98 Kg division, he submitted 2 of his opponents and beat a third by the score of 7-0! Sepember of 2011 he will travel overseas to compete in one of the most prestigious grappling events in the world!! If this isn't enough, Joe is on a 40 match win streak lasting over 2 years. This streak includes 36 wins by submission. Congrats to Joe and Nice Guy Submission Fighting of Owensboro, KY for all their success!

*ADCC is an invite only grappling tournament featuring the best BJJ, Submission Grappling, Judo, Wrestlers and Sambo players in the world. Most spots are directly selected based on career performances, titles and reputation. However, a few spots are earned via Trial tournament winners. Trials are held throughout the world in various countries. Even participation in the trials is on an invite only basis.

Special Thanks to Luiz "Dentinho" Eduardo for spending a month with us here in Kentucky. I have known Dentinho since he was an 18 year old blue belt. I trained with him many times in Brasil. He is an accomplished competitor at the elite level of BJJ black belt competition. He is also a great guy. He taught classes, seminars and privates. I think his influence will be felt for a long time. Hopefully, if all goes well we can have him back 2-3 months a year. Next visit is planned for August.

Cody Gibbons who trains in E-town and Mike Clarke and Joe Hall who train in Owensboro at Nice Guys have grabbed the new colored faixas!

We were invited to compete in a 4 team tournament featuring the top teams in the region. Our original 3 were Joe Baize, Cody Gibbons and Luiz "Dentinho". After the untimely death of Cody's Grandpa Jason Hayden stepped up to compete in Cody's place! We defeated Team Relson Gracie in round 1. In the finals we defeated Team Jorge Gurgel to take the title. Joe Baize looked fabulous as we have come to expect! Jason Hayden put on a masterful performance in the opening match of round 1 defeating BJ Nelson. Dentinho finished tough black belt John Stutzman in only 10 seconds with a gullotine.

In regular category results we took 10 Team 1 competitors and came away with 15 medals in Gi and No Gi divisions.

Every single person looked good. Mooney 3 x 1st place, Debandi 2x 2nd place, Tyler 1st, Brown Legs 2x 1st place, Herrington 2x 2nd place, Mike C. 3rd place purple belt, 3rd no gi, Shannon 2x 1st, Say 2nd no gi, Bryant 2nd place. Mooney looked mentally tough today and Herrington looked awesome! Shakia looked great! In the team results with only 10 competitors we came in 2nd in no gi and 3rd in gi divisions!
